After the Youth Olympic Games, the YOG GmbH developed into a sustainable institution, namely the innsbruck-tirol sports gmbh (ITS), in order to keep and further develop the knowledge from past major events (Universiade, UEFA Euro 2008, Handball Championship, etc.). The shareholders of innsbruck-tirol sports gmbh have been the city of Innsbruck, the region of the Tyrol and the Austrian Olympic Committee since the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck. Furthermore, ITS is closely connected to the International Olympic Committee, international associations, as well as local associations and clubs, tourism partners and sports industries. This network is constantly being maintained and expanded.
We have been representing the city of Innsbruck at the World Union of Olympic Cities for many years. This union was founded in order to promote the effective dialogue between former and future host cities, collaborate, exchange experiences and conserve knowledge. Through the transfer of knowledge regarding the Olympic values and ideals, as well as the promotion of sports and a healthy lifestyle from one generation to the next, a better and healthier life for the future generation should be enabled.
The International Association of Event Hosts (IAEH) exists for representatives of international destinations to collaborate together to generate the best possible value from hosting major sporting and cultural events, and provide a voice for ‘not for profit’ hosts of events.
IAEH provides a platform for members to learn from the successes and challenges of major events, share knowledge and generate greater long term social and economic benefits from hosting events.
