At the end of the school year and exactly 220 days before the opening ceremony of the Innsbruck 2016 International Children’s Games (ICG), a new event was initiated at the Landhausplatz Innsbruck: The Freestyle Days
On a weekend in June, diverse freestyle action with workshops in different trend sports, skate and BMX pro contests and a first-class concert were offered in cooperation with local associations.
With free admission the brave ones could try the BagJump, the creative ones spray graffiti and whoever felt like it, try their balance on the Slackline, on a longboard or in the Parcour. The skaters and BMX drivers competed at the Freestyle Days Contest in the meantime. The Tyrolean gastronomy catered for the many guests who enjoyed the summer in Innsbruck and the colourful event in the middle of the city. The open air concert of the Band OK KID – the upcoming starts – was the icing on the cake.
The focus of this multicultural get-together was on the Olympic values – personal best, friendship and respect. In addition, this completely new kind of event was certified as „Green Event Tirol“.
