CRANKWORX IS ON
Since Wednesday morning and until Sunday evening, the Bikepark Innsbruck is on fire – not only due to the hot summer weather. Athletes, volunteers, exhibitors are in action for five days and boil the ocean to create an unforgettable event.
It’s Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the venue: many volunteers are here since early morning already and some others are on their way up. Even a couple of visitors have already come here, hoping to see some spectacular jumps of the international mountain bike elite in the training session. While the bikers are still warming up and prepare themselves for the whip-off, the Expo Area is ready for rush.
With all the same commitment and even more, the festival got bigger and better on Thursday and Friday. A blue sky and sunshine were the scenery of the exciting Dual Speed & Style competition which brought along a couple of surprises. One highlight was the Pumptrack competition with the panorama of Innsbruck at dusk. Downhill and Slopestyle are still running – both disciplines go down on Saturday as the weather interfered with the original schedule.
For the first time in the history of Crankworx, Innsbruck is one station in the course of the world tour. From Wednesday, June 21, to Sunday, June 25, the festival is open for everyone who likes to come. The Bikepark Innsbruck includes the trails in Mutters at the lake of Muttereralm and Götzens. Besides the exciting races and jumps coming with the five disciplines–Whip-off, Dual Speed & Style, Pumptrack, Downhill and Slopestyle – the audience can get some sneak peeks at the Expo Area, ask their questions and test bikes. Shuttle busses as well as the tram Stubaitalbahn bring you up to the Crankworx venue.
