In September 2018 Innsbruck-Tirol will welcome the world’s best riders at the UCI Road World Championships, a leading annual international road cycling event.

More than 1,000 athletes will take part in individual and team time trials, as well as road races during eight exciting competition days.

The Tirol is ideal for stretches with especially difficult climbs due to its magnificent mountain roads. In accordance with the claim ‘Riding the Heart of the Alps’, the planned route for the Men’s Elite Road Race with approximately 5,000 metres of altitude difference already gives a first glimpse of how spectacular and challenging the 2018 UCI Road World Championships in Innsbruck-Tirol will be.

The twelve races will start in the regions of Ötztal, Alpbachtal Seenland, Hall-Wattens and Kufstein and lead along different routes before finishing in the heart of the regional capital, Innsbruck.

Not only hundreds of thousands of spectators are expected to line the race routes, but also TV live coverage broadcast in 150 countries will reach an audience of 200 million people every day.
